FORK UNION — The Fluvanna County Radio Control Flying Club hosted the Second Annual Fork Union Cloud Kings United Pilots Show.
The show was a ‘giant scaled event’, the show was only for bigger aircraft with a wingspan of over 80 inches. It is a two-day show that will end on Sunday, May 2.
Pilots had their radio controlled planes dive, climb, spin and even had miniature pilots parachute from the planes.

People at the show are from throughout the commonwealth and as far as Raleigh, North Carolina. Many local club members participated in the event.
The 40 member FCRCFC has been in existence since 2000. The club has charters with the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Members build, fly and sometimes repair aircraft in order to fly.
The club’s purpose and objectives are to promote Fluvanna County’s Radio Control Aircraft Modelers in radio control model flying and construction, the advancement of model aviation, support the programs and activities of AMA and to generate good will through our actions within the community.
“if you are looking to get involved in [radio control], talk to a club. Come out to one of our events or stop by the field,” club member Dave Beazley said.
The FCRCFC mets every fourth Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire and Rescue building on Slice Road. The airfield is located off of Route 6, next to the former Fluvanna County Landfill.
