This is the second JD championship for the Flucos in as many tries.
FCHS had seven first place finishings with five second place showings and four third place awards.
First place finishers were Johnny Douma (extemporaneous), Nick Lauterbach (storytelling), Mary Milton (human interpretation), Adel Sams (prose), Samantha Federico (poetry), Jamie Hall and Zach Dobrin (serious duo) and Matt Anderson and Camden Cassell (humorous duo).
Second place finishers were Jonathan Corbin (original oratory), Kelsey Schlein (storytelling), Victoria Cook (prose), Dalton Baughn (poetry) and Carrie Domenic and Jordan Nazar (serious duo).
Third place finishers were Heather Chambers (impromptu), Hannah Corbin (original oratory), Matt Fragola (humorous interpretation) and Morgan Shepherd (serious interpretation).
The regional event will be at John Champe High School on Feb. 23. The top three from each category will move on to the state championships on March 23. Those will be held at Harrisonburg High School.
