Fluco Blog Live! scores a sponsor

PALMYRA — Bryan Rothamel, Senior Writer at FlucoBlog.com, announced on March 5 a sponsorship deal for Fluco Blog Live! with Georges and Company Realtors.
“With high costs for the state tournament, we had no choice. I am glad Georges and Company was eager to help,” Rothamel said. “We are excited to be able to broadcast the state tournament and hopefully we will have three games to do.”
Fluvanna County High School was the only school in the Jefferson District to have live webstream broadcasts throughout the season. Fluco Blog Live! averaged 10 listeners per game. The broadcast for the regional championship game had 75 listeners.
Starting in the girls’ Region II Division 3 tournament, Fluco Blog Live! expanded to a two-man crew with Rothamel doing play-by-play and Nick Ward, boys’ basketball junior varsity coach, being a color commentator. The state tournament will bring a statistician as well as a halftime show because Darren McCauley will cover the additional workload.
“With Georges and Company wanting to sponsor us, we looked at ways of really capturing the opportunity. By adding two experts, not only in basketball but in Fluvanna basketball, we think Fluco Blog Live! will be top notch throughout the tournament,” Rothamel said.
Fluco Blog Live! broadcasts on http://flucoblog.com/live. The first game is set for 11 am from the Siegel Center Richmond, Va. It will feature the Fluvanna Flucos vs. the Greensville Eagles.
