The first group is the Destination ImagiNation team, ‘Rainbow Gang.’ The group is heading to the DI global competition in Knoxville, Tenn. The event will be May 22 through the 25.
At the Virginia DI tournament on April 13 the Rainbow Gang presented a video of its outreach project to help earn funds for classroom supplies for high school teachers. They also had to complete a timed instant challenge.
The group is looking to raise $3,500 for the trip. As of April 29, the ‘Gang raised $1,650. To donate, log on to Rainbow Gang’s YouCaring.com portal.
The forensics team is sending its first representative to the National Forensics League national tournament. The tournament is held in Birmingham, Ala. during June 16 through the 21.
Freshman Jonathan Corbin qualified for the NFL tournament with his original oratory titled, “The Trouble With Tech”. Corbin discusses the simplicities of life lost through apps like Apple’s Siri birthday reminders.
Corbin is trying to raise $3,000 for his trip. As of April 29, he has raised $240.
