Cub Scout troop donates supplies, goods to school district

PALMYRA — At the Jan. 9 School Board meeting, Cub Pack 138 presented a table’s worth stacked high with school supplies, outdoor games and more.

The donation capped a month long drive the local Cub Scouts hosted to help alleviate stress of school supplies.

For their efforts the School Board gave each scout a Fluvanna County Public Schools lapel pin.

The pack collected many items but a list of items most in need were:

  • Copy paper
  • Glue sticks
  • Pencils and pens
  • repositionable notes (brands like Sticky Notes or Post-It) – all sizes up to large tablet
  • Dry erase markers/erasers
  • Staples, tape, paper clips, masking tape and clear packaging tape
  • Colored pens and permeant markers/
  • Index cards
  • Decent quality construction paper
  • Pencil cap erasers
  • Loose leaf paper
  • Rubber playground balls
  • Tissues
  • Rubber cement
  • Gallon zippered storage bags

The pack had the assistance of local business that help collect the items. Locations that helped were:
