The boys’ team took five first place medals. FCHS athletes finishing first were two for Deiondre Key (shot put and discus), Chance Parmly (pole vault), Blake Hills (high jump) and Chris Markham (3,200-meter run).
The boys’ team also had Devin Goode finish second in the shot put and third in the discus.
Two relay teams placed in the top three. The 100-meter relay team of Jesse VanDyke, Rashad Bruce, Karel Bruce and Terrell Key finished second. The 400-meter relay of Michael Mattson, Goddience Flannagan, Hills and VanDyke finished third.
The girls team had two first place finishers. Hannah Meador claimed her third straight pole vault championship and Courtney Searcy won the discus. Searcy also finished second in the shot put.
Emily Haden finished third in both the shot put and discus.
Stephanie Bossong finished second in the 3,200 meter run while Autumn Shepherd finished third in the 100-meter hurdles.
The 100-meter relay team of Rachel Devore, Julianna Elliot, Brooke Haislip and Dajah Harris finished second. The 400-meter relay team of Malika Hill, Meador, Devore and Haislip finished third.
The Region II Track and Field Championships are at Fluvanna County High School on May 22.
