Bryan Rothamel
Bryan Rothamel is our senior writer and copy editor. Everything published on Fluco Blog is first read by Rothamel. Rothamel also is the play-by-play announcer for ‘Fluco Blog Live!’.
Rothamel graduated from High Point University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Arts. He studied in the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication with a concentration in journalism. Rothamel was the only two-section editor for the student newspaper, the Campus Chronicle. He started the advertising section and expanded the Greek section to cover all of the university’s organizations. Rothamel also was the first station manager of HPURadio. HPUR broadcasted from 2 pm to 12 am seven days a week with over 40 disc jockeys.
In addition to the Campus Chronicle and HPUR, Rothamel worked in the both the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Office of Student Life. Rothamel also worked in the department of athletics as an public address announcer for men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball and baseball. He was the announcer for the opening of the Coy O. Willard Sr. Stadium and the Vert Track and Soccer Stadium.
Rothamel has lived in Fluvanna since 1989. He graduated from Fluvanna County High School in 2006. He lettered in baseball and golf and worked on the student television program, In the Know. Along with Luke Bashore, Rothamel named the FCHS gymnasium the Shoe Box. Currently he lives with his parents in Lake Monticello.
